Requirements:
General intake
Three (3) Simple passes (S) or above in any stream in one and the same sitting at the GCE A/L (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification.
Description:
This bachelor’s degree in supply chain management is focused on providing undergraduates with a thorough knowledge of the global supply chain industry along with the analytical tools and professional skills to succeed in the modern logistics industry.
Supply Chain Management focuses on efficiently managing people, resources, and information related to the movement of a product or service from supplier to customer. It encompasses topics from manufacturing operations, purchasing, transportation, and physical distribution into an integrated program.
The Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) in Supply Chain Management programme offered by SLTC, presents the students with an industry-relevant, current curriculum, exposing them to critical, value-adding components to enhance their global employability. The objectives are to provide students with a comprehensive background in each area of activity and also to allow students to focus on their areas of interest. Through this programme, students will develop project management and negotiation skills and will learn how to procure products and manage their handling, storage, and distribution effectively as well as to improve efficiencies in supply chain operations, cost control, eliminate supply chain failures, and moderate supply chain risks.
Throughout the programme, students are provided with multiple opportunities to integrate academic learning into workplace experience. Incorporating professional experience in studies helps develop employability skills, including communication, teamwork, leadership, negotiation and problem-solving. All our students are placed in internships with acclaimed organisations for a mandatory period of industrial training which provides them with professional experience in a workplace before their graduation. This programme provides its students with hands-on experience, enabling them to demonstrate relevant work experience, and making them competitive job seekers in the HR profession.
