BSc (Hons) in Cloud Computing
Requirements:
General intake
(i) Three (3) Simple passes (“S”) in Physical Science stream or Engineering Technology stream in one and the same sitting at the GCE A/L (Advanced Level)
Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka or
equivalent qualification.; Or
(ii) Three (3) Simple passes (“S”) in any stream in one and the same sitting at the GCE A/L (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of
Examinations of Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification and a Credit Pass (“C”) in Mathematics at the GCE O/L (Ordinary Level) Examination conducted by the
Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification with the SLTC bridging programme.
Description:
In an increasingly connected world, Cloud Computing is gaining significant attention. Many institutes are focusing on obtaining their computing needs via the cloud rather than maintaining their computers. As a result, cloud computing is gaining immense popularity. This is one of the very first 4-year cloud computing degrees to be offered by a Sri Lankan institute.
This undergraduate programme in cloud computing leads to a four-year, bachelor’s honours degree in information technology which has been designed to produce a career-ready graduate with in-depth knowledge of computer science and related disciplines, well-honed technical skills, and considerable exposure to the workings of the IT industry. The graduate will be capable of producing cloud software and services that are innovative, sustainable, effective, and efficient, and less error prone.
SLTC’s Cloud Computing programme prepares graduates to take on roles in software development, testing, and quality assurance as Software Engineers in Cloud Computing, Cloud Engineers, Cloud System Engineers, Cloud Service Developers, Cloud System Administrators and Software Engineers with skills to excel in the ever-evolving world of technology.
